Dr. Khan grew up in Scarborough, Ontario. After graduating from high school he attended the University of Toronto, Trinity College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with High Distinction in 1997. He then attended The University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry and graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2001.
Dr. Khan served as a dental officer in the Canadian Forces from 1998-2007. Dr. Khan began practicing dentistry in Halifax, Nova Scotia with the Canadian Forces. In the CF he learned a lot through mentorship with dental specialists and advanced dental training courses through the military. After a ten year career in the Canadian Forces, he retired at the rank of Captain and moved to Kingston, ON with his wife and life partner Dr. Sohela Vaid in 2007 to pursue studies in Medicine at Queen's University and also practice general dentistry part-time.
He is a current and past member of; both the Canadian and Ontario Dental Associations, both the Canadian and Ontario Medical Associations, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Nova Scotia Dental Association, the Kingston and District Dental Society, the Halifax County Dental Society, Xi Psi Phi Dental Fraternity, Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, United States Army Medical Department Regiment, American Dental Education Association, Nova Scotia Medical Legal Society and Nova Scotia Oral Medicine Study Club.
Dr. Khan is proud to have founded the Khan Foundation for Children in 2002, an organization which seeks to provide oral health care to disadvantaged children with a particular focus on prevention of disease. Dr. Khan is a recipient of the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal and the Order of St. John. He is also a recipient of the 15 year Voluntarism award from the Ministry of Citizenship in the Province of Ontario.
Dr Khan enjoys working in all areas of dentistry with a particular interest in cosmetic/aesthetic, dental implants, sedation, restorative, orthodontic and surgical dentistry to improve oral health and boost confidence. He also is committed to his profession through his work in dental research and organized dentistry as a past and current committee member of the Ontario and Canadian Dental Associations. He is dedicated to providing oral health care in a comfortable, welcoming environment, where every patient is a friend.
